I had originally sent the following message via ?contact us? on Mad City Sales website @ 8/29/14 830pm. I have yet to get anything but more advertisement emails from them??So I am trying the ?Presto Reviews? method.
I am writing to communicate my bad experience with Mad City Sales.
I made an appointment for Saturday August 9th, 2014 at 1230pm via email contact with Ruth Anne. I had explained to Ruth Anne what I was looking for and what monthly payment I was hoping for, she noted that Mad City Sales has many different lots of vehicles to choose from, so finding my perfect match should not be a problem.
I arrived at Mad City Sales on Saturday and met the salesman TJ Galloway. TJ asked a couple questions about what I was looking for, then sent me out in the lot to explore solo. I found a couple of crossover suv?s I thought were suitable. The first vehicle I tried to test drive was a situation I have never experienced before. TJ brought me the key to a Honda CRV, which at first the keyless entry didn?t work, and the vehicle would not turn over. I just attempted to test drive a vehicle with a dead battery???OK! thats not a good sign. TJ finds another CRV for me to test drive, this one starts and I take it for a test drive. The breaks were squeaky (like almost to the rotors, squeaky) and it didn?t drive to my liking. Once I got back I tracked down TJ, and explained I was not to happy with the CRV. So then I test drove a Rouge, which drove much better. The Rogue was much more convincing as a vehicle in good shape. Once I returned to the dealership, again I track down TJ and explain the more positive experience with the Rogue. Next is the number crunching, I have already explained to Ruth Anne and TJ what monthly payment I am looking for (around $250/month), I was looking to lower my monthly payments from the 2008 Expedition (of $450/month). So fast forward thru all the paperwork and TJ comes back with numbers for me???..$400/month! UGH! Not as low as I needed. So I ask a few questions about maybe picking an older or lower priced vehicle, honestly all the ?extras? stuff is not that important to me. At this point TJ quickly talks me out of having to start the test drive process all over again. Like it was a hassle to give me the time I needed to find the perfect fit for me. So I signed the paperwork, thinking I can make this work and the lower cost on fuel (mpg) will help too.
Fast forward again to a few weeks??.. My financial situation is going to change within a few months. I express this to TJ via email, while also communicating with him about my down payment check not going thru. (which ended up being my mistake, due to the fact that child support payments I thought had been received were not). As of today everything should be square with the down payment, but no one at Mad City Sales could agree with that. I did not think it was important to share personal information, but the short version of the story??.I found out recently that the bills my boyfriend is responsible for, have not been paid in months. So along with the bills problem and another pile of drama I have kicked the boyfriend to the curb. Yea! for my peace of mind, BUT my finances are taking a hit due to playing catch up on past due bills plus flying solo on my monthly housing. So I can no longer afford a $400/month car payment. I need to try and get closer to my initial request of $250/month. After a couple of emails of communication with TJ, I explain that I will be in on Friday August 29, 2014 at 4pm(ish) to see if Mad City Sales can help me achieve my initial request of a MUCH LOWER payment.
On Friday August 29th, 2014 my truly crappy experience began with Mad City Sales. I arrive at 4pm, stand in the lobby area for about 10 minutes before beginning addressed. At which point I am shuffled to a desk by an employee, I explain I there to meet with TJ. Since I had previously told him I would be in at 4pm. I wait in a cubicle for about 15 minutes before TJ comes to talk to me, he says he is with two other customers at the time so he is going to have his sales manager Mike help me. I wait another 10 minutes, when the sales person whose cubicle I am sitting at, asks me to move to another cubicle??..OK sure! I wait in my new ?seat? for another 10 minutes. Then Jason Klidies comes to ask me what I am looking to do today, because Mike is on a phone call. So I explain to Jason what I have explained to TJ that I thought TJ had explained to Mike??.is this high school? Because I am beginning to feel like I am in the middle of a rumor mill! ?Jason, I am looking to exchange the car I bought on 8/9/14, my financial situation has changed and I can no longer afford the payments.? Jason leaves expressing he will explain everything to Mike. 430pm rolls around and I finally come face to face with the infamous Mike Brown. I once again explain my situation, but this time to Mike. Mike throws a few details at me, that he thinks apply to my situation, but they were incorrect. I make corrections and continue to discuss a few details with Mike. He explains in a very nice and professional manner that they are pretty busy right now and please be patient. Which I completely understood! UNTIL??.I sit in this cubicle until 545pm! With no communication from ANYONE! I see TJ walking around trying to get his sales completed, I see Jason walking around talking to other associates, and I see Mike talking to other customers. At 545pm TJ comes over, he expresses that he had no idea I was still there. OH GOOD EVERYONE FORGOT ABOUT ME! Thats something a customer wants think! TJ tries to answer a few questions for me and at this point I know I am being difficult because I am angry after waiting for so long. TJ handled it well! very well! Kudos to TJ! :)
He expressed that he was going to communicate with Mike and see what was going on. Come 555pm I hadn?t heard from anyone, so I left. I was to upset to stay and try to communicate with anyone, anyway. Plus the office closes in 5 minutes. I don?t want to make the employees stay late on labor day weekend! I know what its like to work weekends. If I can control it, I am not going to be the cause of someone having to stay late on a holiday weekend when they should spend that time with their families!
Now that I have explained my experience I have a few questions/statements.
1. Is the ?dealer for the people? not willing to work with people who want to reduce there monthly vehicle cost dramatically ? Because at this point I am ready to explore my options at other dealers in the area.
2. I realize that Mad City Sales was very busy both days I was there, but since when is it ok to leave a customer waiting for over an hour? In my experience I haven?t had to wait that long for a doctors appointment. I am a very patient, mild mannered person. I don?t get upset easily. But in this circumstance I was VERY upset!
3. Can you every help me out in my situation or not? I guess I should ask if you are willing to help me out?
4. On friday 8/29/14 I left my job early at 3pm (in Dodgeville, WI) to sit at a dealership for 2 hours and accomplish nothing. This time of year my job is very demanding, so getting time off early is not easy. Now I am going to have to take more time to go back to a dealership because nothing was accomplished on the day I scheduled time and made time for it to happen. I didn?t even get a chance to test drive something or LOOK at something that would be a good replacement for the Rouge. This is very frustrating! I don?t like the car buying process to begin with! And this type of experience is NOT helpful at ALL!
Any explanation or help would be greatly appreciated!

Great place to buy a car if you looking for used cars. Highly recommend Miguel. No nonsense, and efficient. Very busy lobby with tons of customers. Lots of awards on the walls. Not a traditional car dealer....
